The Thing Driving Course Correction

The Thing Driving Course Correction

So give Oprah a room full of eager college students and she is going to deliver fire. Always.

I love hearing Oprah when she is in the interview chair. I want to hear what she has to say. I used to watch Super Soul Sunday sound bites on YouTube and would always be amazed when people would blow up the comments scolding her for talking to much during the interview. I WANTED her input, it was gold.

So here is the transcript from a slice of the interview:

"There are no mistakes because you have a supreme destiny.

When you are in your little mind, in your little personality mind, where you are not centered

Maybe you really don’t know who you are. You don’t remember that you come from something greater and bigger and that we are all really the same. When you don’t know that, you get all flustered, you get stressed all the time. You are wanting something to be what it isn’t.

There is a supreme moment, destiny, calling on your life. Your job is to feel that, to hear that and know that.

And sometimes when you are not listening and you get taken off track, like you get in the wrong marriage, relationship, you take the wrong job. It is all leading to the same path, because there are no wrong paths. There are none – there is no such thing as failure really.

Because Failure is just that thing trying to move you in another direction, a better direction. So you get as much from the losses as you get from your victories. The losses are there to wake you up.

So that CBS can call you. When you understand that you don’t allow yourself to be completely thrown by a grade or by a circumstance – your life is bigger than any one experience.

What would you say to your younger self – I would have said…RELAX, It is gonna by okay it is really gonna be okay – When you feel really uneasy with life – that is the cue that you need to moving in another direction.

Don’t let your self get all thrown off course – this course is the KEY.

So how do you turn around. People make you think this is difficult. No, get still and ask yourself what is the NEXT right move. What is the next right move and then from that stillness make the next right move – you know your life is bigger than that one moment.

Never forget, Failure is there to point you in a different direction."
